Walking from
the center of the town of Ayacucho to the workshop
of Ciriaco Sosa at the Avenida Las Palmeras
|
|
Street in the center
of Ayacucho
Ayacucho is always very steep and hilly, and when
it's raining, big rivers are running through the
town. Driving a car in Ayacucho during a heavy rain
is extremely dangerous, and in 2010 there was a car
avalanche shifting about 30 cars into the valley.
So, when there is a heavy rain, you should not drive
a car here, because when your are in a car, you have
no chance holding on when the car is swimming.
Why this is like
this in Ayacucho? Canalization system is missing
at the hills and the stupid Peruvian mayors are
not bothering about it.
But today was no rain, only clouds, and this was a
good condition for walking so there was no hot
sunshine in the streets.

Jiron Grau (Grau
street), freight tricycles
People who want to
go by foot to Ciriaco Sosa's workshop they can
walk for example passing Grau Street (jiron Grau),
passing the market first and then these freight
tricycles which have a traditional place there
selling fruits or other things.

Somebody is making
his siesta here on one of the freight tricycles.
Well, one should feel "free", and so free is the
people here concerning some conditions of life.

Jiron Grau, little
hotel (hospedaje) Willrose
On the way there is this little hotel Willrose where
there are cheap rooms for sure for people who want
to stay a longer time in Ayacucho, and this hotel
not is in the center either and therefore it can be
that this hotel is quiet calm. But I never have been
there, and I don't know if there are hens and cocks.
But if there are, so sleeping will end at 4 o'clock
in the morning. You have to try it out. Perhaps this
little hotel is an insider tip.

Jiron Grau, woman
with children
Here we are passing a bridge and at the other side
there is a Micky Mouse painting of a primary school.
Here we see the
traditional colored fabric of Quechua speaking
farmer's society of the Andes. These are very
beautiful fabrics speaking to all feelings at one
moment, but these fabrics are hardly on the list
of the tourists and hare hardly considered. Such
fabrics can be purchased on any handicraft market.

|
At this street
there are garden walls on which are growing
cactuses. Well, this is also a method defending
oneself against thieves.

This was well done by the owner of the house.
Worse done by the neighbors was that what is
coming on the next photo.

|
Jiron Raimondi
(Raimondi street), trash pile with dogs
As it seems nobody
has got the courage calling to the town cleaning
administration for a cleaning action here.
Therefore the dogs are coming and taking over this
task, but they are doing it worse opening all
searching for something like meat or bone or
compote or other things, and at the end the single
parts are distributed on the street. The courage
for a call - this is that what many people in
South "America" don't have.
And the city administration is not distributing
the telephone numbers. They mean that this would
only cost and organize their parties. That is a
typical Peruvian behavior...

|
Calle Cahuide
(Cahuide street)
And suddenly the scenery is changing. Now we are
going up Cahuide street, a clean little concrete
road.
|
|
Bridge with the Palms
Avenue (Avenida Las Palmeras)
At the bridge one knows that there is coming the
Palms Alley now (Avenida Las Palmeras)
|
|
Avenida Las Palmeras
(Palms Alley)
And now this is
another steep street, because hairpin turns are
not wanted by Peruvian city planners because the
chessboard pattern of the town would be destroyed.
And soon will come the house no. 301 where we can
find the weaving workshop of Ciriaco Sosa since
2009.
